Won’t my clients save money by going directly to the lender?

Going to the bank directly is always an option. But clients need to be aware what other “better” options they can utilize. When your client goes to the bank to get a mortgage, they don’t necessarily save money as working with the mortgage broker doesn’t cost them anything. It even provides them several benefits as mortgage brokers have access to different lending institutions, various programs and better rates.

What will happen at my first meeting with my mortgage broker?

Dominion Lending Centres Mortgage Expert:

A broker will assess your financial circumstances in order to establish how much money it is possible for you to borrow. You will be asked about your credit history, income, assists, and liabilities. You will be asked to provide documents to show for the above questions.

The broker will discuss the repayments you can afford, the best interest rate, whether it is fixed rate or variable, and will try to get you the best deal for your financial circumstances.

You will be guided through a lender application form by the broker. Once you have completed this, stating the amount you wish to borrow (on the advice of the broker) this will be submitted to the lender for approval.
